Daaaaaaddd!
Toyota Japan managed to stand out from the Father's Day fray with a sentimental, creatively crafted montage that follows the relationship between a father and his daughter as seen from each point of view.

The first half of the three-and-a-half minute spot is a collection of the dad's first-person memories of his daughter growing up through the years — or at least those of them that revolve around the family's Toyotas. One minute she is a crying toddler in a carseat, the next a door-slamming teenager, then finally a proud mom with a "Baby on Board" sticker plastered on her own mini-van.
The next half comes with some touching twists: we see the pink mittens the dad still cheerfully insists his teenage daughter wear quickly thrown in the trash, his longing gaze as she moves out and his beaming pride at her wedding.
The first blatant piece of advertising doesn't come until the end, when Toyota's collision alarm system warns the father slams on the brakes and he looks back to check on his daughter and baby grandkid.
The lesson: dads can't help but keep looking back.
