It's all Retina display and 64-bit from here on out.

9to5Mac noticed that Apple quietly removed the original iPad mini from its website and store, suggesting that the device is no longer available.

Until its removal on Friday, the first-generation iPad mini was the only iOS device without a Retina display that Apple was still selling.
The iPad mini 2, released in 2013, doubled the first mini's pixels from 1,024 x 768 to 2,048 x 1,536. And last year, Apple released the iPad mini 3 with some modest updates, namely the TouchID fingerprint sensor and a gold color option.
The iPad family now includes the iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air and iPad Air 2.
Although Apple removed the iPad mini from its lineup, the device will still support iOS 9.
It's possible that Apple is streamlining its iPad lineup in anticipation of the rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
